Pabsimma Sits Tied for Fourth through Two Rounds at Edisto Island Invitational

Edisto Island, S.C. – Beem Pabsimma recorded the two lowest rounds of her career on Sunday, 71 and 68, and is tied for fourth place to lead the USC Upstate women's golf team on day one of the Edisto Island Invitational from the par 71, 5902-yard The Plantation Course at Edisto.

USC Upstate posted rounds of 304 and 301 on day one to sit in 11th place with a combined score of 605.

North Florida leads the Edisto Island Invitational by one stroke over second place Xavier at 2-over 570. Thitaree Sakulbunpanich of Delaware sits atop the individual leaderboard by one stroke at 8-under par 134.


  • Pabsimma had rounds of 71 and 68, the two lowest of her career, to turn in the top individual performance for the Spartans on day one sitting in a tie for fourth place at 3-under 139 (71-68).
  • Her previous career-low round of 72 came on the final day of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
  • Pan Paksanont was the second-best performer for USC Upstate on Sunday shooting a 149 (74-75) and is currently tied for 29th.
  • Anna Chanthaphaeng sits tied for 55th position with a combined score of 158 (79-79).
  • Brooke Hutto is tied for 61st after shooting a total score of 160 (81-79).
  • Caroline Heustess rounds out the individual leaderboard for the Spartans tied for 73rd place at 164 (80-84).
  • The Spartans finished the day with a 3.23 stroke average in par 3 scoring, 4.31 stroke average in par 4 scoring and 5.57 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
  • USC Upstate also registered 101 pars and 18 birdies.
  • Chanthaphaeng leads the Spartans in par 3 scoring at even-par with a 3.00 stroke average.
  • Pabsimma has a team-best 3-under par, 3.86 stroke average in par 4 scoring and 1-under, 4.83 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
  • Pabsimma ranks second among the tournament field in par 4 scoring and tied for third in birdies (9). The freshman made eight of her nine birdies over the final 20 holes.
  • Paksanont has compiled a team-high 25 pars.
  • Chanthaphaeng and Paksanont have contributed three birdies apiece while Heustess adds two and Hutto one.
