Men’s Soccer Announces the Signing of Three Transfer Students

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate men's soccer coach Scott Halkett has announced the signing of Aidan Hill, Pol Monells  and Matheiu Peyreblanque.

"I am thrilled to have been able to add Aiden [Hill], Pol [Monells] and Matheiu [Peyreblanque] to our team this spring," Halkett said. "Pol is a very good attacking player who is creative and scores goals. Aiden has an excellent work ethic which will help us in the midfield where he can support our front three but also create scoring opportunities. Matheiu is a fighter and his tenacity and intelligence as a holding midfielder should help us defensively."

Aidan Hill (Peoria, Ill.) makes his way to USC Upstate after transferring from Barton County Community College in Kansas. While at Barton, Hill scored four goals and assisted on seven others for a total of 15 points on the 2018 season. The Illinois native started nine games for the Cougars and participated in a total of 25 games. Hill plans to major in Business at USC Upstate.

The second transfer signee for USC Upstate is midfielder/forward Pol Monells (Barcelona, Spain). Monells played two seasons at Barton College (North Carolina) and is a two time All-Conference Carolina's selection. In 2017 Monells was named to the second team and in 2018 the Spaniard was named to the first team. In his two seasons at Barton Monells started 30 of the 31 games he appeared in. Monelles scored 16 goals, had 9 assists, 41 points, 5 game winning goals and 42 shots on goal. On October 17, Monells scored a hat trick against Piedmont International to help lead the Bulldogs to a 5-4 victory. Monells intends to major in Business at USC Upstate.

Midfielder Matheiu Peyreblanque (La Serena, Chile) appeared in 13 games and made 6 starts on the Iowa Western Community College men's soccer team. While at Iowa Western Peyreblanque recorded and assists on 16 shot attempts. His lone assists came against Scott Community College in 7-0 victory for the Reivers. Peyreblanque plans to study Business at USC Upstate.

The USC Upstate men's soccer team is currently preparing for the 2019 fall season.
