SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate athletics department has announced the addition of a beer garden coinciding with the baseball and softball games on Saturday, April 13.
"This event will do a great job connecting several local businesses and breweries with the Upstate community. While, enjoying a USC Upstate baseball and softball game fans can enjoy a frosty beverage on a nice Spring day. This being the first event it is exciting to do something that has not been done before in this community." – USC Upstate Marketing Director Conner Leonard.
The USC Upstate baseball team will be playing the Presbyterian Blue Hose at 2:00 p.m. and the Softball team will be playing a double header against Radford beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The beer garden will be held in the grass area between the baseball and softball field complex. The tasting event will begin at 12:30 p.m. or a half-hour prior to first pitch at the softball game. The tasting will conclude in the seventh inning of the baseball game.
Participating local breweries include: New Groove Artisan Brewery, RJ Rockers Brewing Company and Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery, Budweiser of Spartanburg.
