Spartanburg, S.C. – After winning the last two games the USC Upstate women's basketball team will look to extend its winning streak this weekend as the Spartans host Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Stetson on Monday at 7 p.m. at Eddie and Ann Payne Arena in the G.B. Hodge Center.
Saturday's game will be part of USC Upstate Homecoming festivities. Monday's game will be the Breast Cancer Awareness and Mary Black School of Nursing Game. The Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will be holding a bake sale and selling pink tennis balls along with pink lemonade. Members of the USC Upstate School of Nursing will be honored during timeouts. Additionally, breast cancer survivors will be honored during the game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink. All proceeds will go to Play4Kay.
USC Upstate is 9-15 overall and 4-5 in the ASUN Conference following an 80-64 win over Lipscomb on Wednesday. Tamera Thorpe led three Spartans in double figures with 19 points. Anda Kuzmina scored 16 points while Brittney Delva added 13 points. A'Lexxus Davis pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds. The Spartans split the season series with Lipscomb and will conclude their regular season ASUN series against the Lady Bisons with an 11-0 home record.
Florida Gulf Coast is 22-4 overall and 8-1 in the league after defeating North Florida 67-52 in Fort Myers on Tuesday. China Dow led the Eagles with 19 points followed by Rosemarie Julien with 18 and Lisa Zderadicka with 14. Julien leads the team with 13.0 points per game with Dow averaging 11.2 points per game. The Eagles defeated USC Upstate 93-60 at Alico Arena on Jan. 15.
Stetson is 14-11 overall and 5-4 in conference play following a 61-54 home loss to Jacksonville on Wednesday. Brittney Chambers recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Michelle Pruitt and McKenna Beach had 11 points each. The Hatters claimed a 62-61 win in DeLand, Fla. on Jan. 13.
The Eagles lead the all-time series 18-2 and have won the past 13 matchups. Stetson leads the all-time series 17-6 with four consecutive wins over the Spartans.

USC Upstate will hit the road for its final two road games of the 2017-18 regular season next weekend as the Spartans travel to Jacksonville on Saturday and North Florida on Monday.
