Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate cross country team will compete in the sixth, and final, meet of the 2017 season on Friday morning as the Spartans travel to Earlysville, Va. for the NCAA Southeast Regional meet at Panorama Farms hosted by the University of Virginia. Admission to the meet is free, however, there is a $5 parking fee.
The women's 6k race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the men's 10k race at 11:30 a.m. The women's team ran its only 6k race of the season on Oct. 13 at the Pirate Invitational. Friday is the first 10k race for the men's team this season.
At the ASUN Cross Country Championships, the men's team finished in fourth place for the third consecutive year while the women finished in sixth place. Dorian Jones led the men with a 16th place finish while Marcy Bradshaw scored a 25th place result for the women's team. Eight student-athletes finished the race with a new personal-best time.
In 2016, the men's team finished in 25th place at the regional meet while the women finished in 32nd. A total of 627 student-athletes representing schools from Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia are scheduled to compete.

The 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Louisville, Ky.
