Spartanburg, S.C. – Following time off for exams and Christmas break, the USC Upstate track and field teams continue their indoor season this Friday and Saturday at the ETSU Invitational in Johnson City Tenn. The meet will be held inside the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center.
At the season-opening UNCG Early Bird Duals on Dec. 3, three new school records were set by freshman student-athletes. Sarah Hill set the school record in the women's 60-meter dash as she won that event as well as the 200-meter dash. Adanma Uzor won the women's triple jump with a record-setting mark of 11.83 meters. Ari Jahanfar was the winner of the men's long jump with a new record distance of 7.48 meters. Hill was named the season's first ASUN Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts.
Friday's action begins at 9 a.m. with the women's weight throw with running events beginning at 10:15 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries. Saturday's action starts with the women's 3,000-meter run at 8:35 a.m.
Upstate will compete at the Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C. next Saturday and Sunday.
